I had the best California omelette yesterday at Cappys Cafe. I met friends for fun & food and this place delivered. The wait staff were friendly and checked often making sure we had all we needed. I will be going back to enjoy the great food & service for certain. I was there with a group of ten and more Tues. There is not enough words to say how great this place is. This was my first time and now knowing how good the food and service was, will make this place one of my go too's. I told so many that I was going there on Tues with a group of school buds. Now all my other buddies will now know how great it was. I ordered Prime Rib Melt, so juicy and oh so good!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also had Potato Salad, the best. A little fyi the Horseradish was hot, so those you get prime rib knows that you really need to check it before. I copied what was on there web site, thinly sliced prime rib & melted swiss cheese on grilled sourdough, served with au jus & creamy horseradish sauce. For only $22.00. So good.

This place is a long-time standard for breakfast or lunch. The food is always great, the servers friendly and efficient, and the patio has room for large groups while couples have two-tops along the wall on the north / west side and indoors. Plenty of booths as well. Prices are reasonable as any these days. Only issue ever is with parking but I've always gotten lucky.

Been here a few times Breakfast is always a must here when coming to newport! Tried the huevos rancheros with the salsa on the side and OMG it was super delicious tasty! The patato fries were the cherry on top! 10/10

Arrived for an early breakfast, and was seated within 10minutes. Drip coffee: 5 (refills included) Blueberry pancakes: 5 Sausage links and potatoes- 4 Sourdough with sunny-side-up eggs: 5 Omelette with the fixings, sausage, potatoes- 3 (omelette wasn't great). Service and ambiance: 5+

I think I'm going to start adventure Wednesdays since getting them off but anyways enough about me let's talk about Cappys! Me, my sister, and my nephew decided to drive down here for brunch. Located on the PCH, when you do arrive just know its a quick right turn into the parking lot. Plenty of parking spaces too. We walk in and was sat immediately by our hostess. Unfortunately didn't take a picture of the menu this time around since I was starving lol. The menu is pretty extensive and their staples are noted by an anchor on the item. I opted to get the Corn Beef Hash while my sister ordered the Hamburger Steak and eggs. She decided to get it medium well. Our order took about 10 minutes or so but the first impression of the corn beef hash was it looked absolutely delicious! What I notice with the corn beef itself is the top looked crispy. My first bite into it, it really was! The corn beef along with the grilled veggies was absolutely delicious and succulent. There was some thicker pieces as well. My scrambled eggs were good but unfortunately my hash browns came out kind of cold. The sourdough toast was good as well! Crispy and with butter on it, it paired well with the jam packets. My sisters hamburgers steak was okay. It came out more well done if anything so the steak was hard to eat. The homefries though were delicious and my nephew ate those like hotcakes. Our server checked on us constantly and filled our water. Our hostess helped checked us out as well and brought a box over when requested. Both were great! The overall restaurant is pretty spacious and they have a good 80s playlist going while you eat. Plenty of tables around as well as round booths so they can sit bigger parties if you do go with a bigger group. Overall the food here is good. Some stuff came out cold and what not but overall it's just a minor complaint. With good service and a solid corn beef hash, definitely check this place out if you are in the area. Get your brunch fix going!
